"I just ain't got time for it," Earnhardt responded. "I'm in a bad enough mood due just to the grind of the season that I don't just let those kinds of things get to me and get under my skin."
While Earnhardt understands his legion of fans might be more inclined to see him haul off and smack another driver if he is done wrong, Junior would rather battle wits than fists.
"I don't want to make an issue worse for me," he explained. "I don't want to give anyone ammunition for me. There are a lot of critics out there. We've got a lot of supporters, too, and I know they'd rather me been a little vocal or angry about it.
"But there's just a lot of different reasons that I have better things and more important things to worry about. If I let that get under my skin, everything I do this week's going to be a pain in my butt. It makes for a long week."
That's part of being who he is, and no one's more aware of it than Junior.

I'd like to see him punt Shrub too, Hell I'd like to see anyone punt Shrub. Junebug's playin with a whole different set a rules these days. He know's what he's doin. Kyle's gonna bring himself down if he don't wise up. Shame too cause he can handle a car. JMO
