I've been summoned several times in the past and excused because I always worked a job where without me the offices would have to close and the business would suffer from my absence. This time my only excuse is basically what you said - there's no way in hell anyone will convince me to trust that what they're telling me is the truth. My dad says that since he worked at the prison as a guard my entire childhood I probably wouldn't be wanted by either side because of any prejudices he might have influenced me with and he thinks I should go in and have my say. Politely of course. I'm hoping when I call the night before that my group has been dismissed before I even have to go in. I've already had to start taking my anti-anxiety medicine again just thinking about having to go to the court building so I can't imagine what shape I'll be in if I actually have to deal with it.
