I know exactly what you are talking about. My son had a similar situation and the lazy lawyer talked him into the same thing. He did get it expunged eventually and and it didn't affect his life to the extent it did your brother, but it still stunk. After watching as much court tv as I have, I still think they made the right decision. Juries don't find too many people innocent. Maybe some high profile ones (O.J.), but he was by far the exception to the rule. I know I could find reasonable doubt 90% of the time, but they don't seem to. I watched two trials last year where I absolutely was convinced both were innocent. They were both found guilty. One has since been PROVEN innocent and had it reversed!!! Scary!
