If they do ask if I was the victim of a crime I can honestly say yes. I was robbed by an overpass near the interstate after my tire blew out on the car and I was walking to a nearby house to call for help. The officers who came to "help" me after the guy finally let me go treated me in a hostile manner and kept saying "now tell us what really happened" everytime I explained the situation. I have no idea what they were thinking except that they didn't believe me until they took me back to the scene of the crime and found the smashed down grass where the guy wrestled me to the ground and sat on me while he went through my purse and threatened to kill me if I struggled. They found the smashed grass and finally my broken glasses then sent someone out to the interstate and found my car with the blown tire and suddenly they were very helpful. Until then they were scary and the security guard from a nearby business who had picked me up from the road where I ran out after the guy let me go and called the police for me wwouldn't allow me to go alone with them back to the scene of the crime. He said he really feared for my safety because of their attitudes.
If they go on to the next question I will calmly state my brother's story and most likely be sent on my way. It sucks that I have to lose an entire day of my life to this but maybe they'll make a note and quit summoning me.
