McCain 100 year remark was conditional of an if-then statement
It was conditional on a condition that is never going to change. That is why it was such a stupid thing to say.
Since the war will never end while we have troops there, and McCain won't say how long he will keep troops there while there is fighting, McCain basically said he is willing to let this war go on forever. Good luck to him getting elected with the platform!
